Adults
Nobody has to go to church--especially once we're all grown up.
But often it's when we're all grown up that the biggest questions of life
catch up with us, competing for our attention with the everyday
challenges we all face. Community Presbyterian Church offers a place
where we can help each other contend with those questions and
challenges, and where together we can learn how to recognize God's
presence in the midst of them.

Adult Education
Sundays 10:00 am
Christianity is a faith that influences our thinking, our behavior, our relationships and our spirituality. Every Sunday morning between services (or in the hour before a single, combined service) we gather in groups to stretch our thinking about the Bible or Christian doctrine, to get new ideas about marriage and family, to better understand our community and our world, to discover fresh ways of relating to God. Current classes are:

Spring Parenting Class April 6 - May 18 - Dr Gary Chapman's The Five Love Languages reveals how different people express love in different ways.  As Dr Chapman says "Understand the five love languages and learning to speak the primary love language of your spouse may radically affect his or her behavior."  This class with DVD and discussion will run for 7 weeks from April 6 - May 18. Your children have love languages also and once you learn about them, you will be able to transfer them to all the members of your family.

Christ to Constantine: History of the Early Church - May 4 - June, 8, 2008 Drs Bonnie and Stewart Pattison will facilitate this education series.  How did the church succeed? What happened to Jesus' disciples after the New Testament record breaks off? Did Simon Peter ever get to Rome? Did Nero condemn Paul in Rome or set him free? What happened to John? When were the Gospels written, who wrote them, and where? Why were the Christians persecuted? Answers to these questions and more will be provided based on both biblical and secular evidence.

Alpha Evenings
Thursdays 6:00 - 9:00 pm
ALPHA is an introduction to the Christian faith. Most Thursday evenings, many of us get together for a meal, some group singing and a variety of courses designed to deepen our understanding of Christianity and our relationship with God. Click here for more information about Alpha.

Stephen Ministry
At Community Presbyterian Church we recognize that we weren't meant to experience the difficulties of life alone. Stephen Ministers are members of our church who have committed to be there for our friends and neighbors during times of crisis or doubt or loneliness. Contact the church if you'd like to be visited by a Stephen Minister.

Mission trip to Kentucky
June 21-28, 2008 - Join us Next Year!!
Each year we travel to Kentucky to serve the Hills and Hollers Ministries.  This is an intergenerational activity (6th grade and up) and all are welcome.  Last year one group tore the roof, siding and windows off of a house and replaced them for a very grateful family.  Another group worked in the food pantry filing boxes with government provided staples, and the clothing resale shop sorting donated clothing.  There are a variety of projects other than construction that are planned for this year.  Whatever your skills there's a place for middle and high school youth and adults of all ages - youth, middle aged or senior, in our mission trip. Please contact the office for information about the 2008 trip.   Click here to see a slide show of the 2007 trip.  Click here to see all the photos from the trip.
