The Northern Outreach program in Ghana, reaching out to people who have migrated from the northern part of the country, was started in 1989. Today over 3,000 of these former Northerners worship in 50 full-fledged congregations and 11 preaching points. Most are new converts from traditional religions and come from a number of different ethnic groups. Worship and teaching is done in the language of the particular group. In addition to evangelism and church planting, other programs, such as job training and health education, are in place to meet the people's needs.
