Reaching Out - USA

Each year we travel to Kentucky to serve the Hills and Hollers Ministries. Our upcoming trip will be June 23-30, 2007. This is an intergenerational activity (6th grade and up) and all are welcome.

Kemmerer Village is a child care agency in central Illinois operated by the Presbyterian Church. It serves orphans and troubled children through residential and foster care, counseling, and therapeutic recreation programs. The children live in home settings with house parents.
We support Kemmerer through a Christmas Card program and through the collection of soup can labels which Kemmerer uses to buy needed equipment.

CROP is an ecumenical project to aid those who are hungry around the world. The CROP walk is sponsored by Church World Service, a national ecumenical agency.
Each year we join with other churches and organizations in the Lombard/Villa Park area to raise support for hunger programs. Please join us as we walk again in 2006. Watch this space for more details. |

Our congregation supports the Fund For Theological Education which provides aid for seminary education.
The pastor of a Presbyterian church is often referred to as a teaching elder. Presbyterians have always expected their pastors to be able teachers, and have set high educational standards for their ordained clergy. Since 1794, seminaries (theological schools) related to our denomination have prepared men and women to serve the church. Today, each of our seminaries continues to provide the Biblical and doctrinal training needed to produce effective leaders. |
