“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here. He has risen.”

Luke 5:5

What are we looking for? Today we may be looking long and hard for an end to this plague, the Covid-19. We may be looking for life after this deathwatch. We may be looking at the numbers, searching for the flattening of the curve. But we need not look for Jesus in the tomb. He has opened it. He has risen from it. And because He has, so too will those who have gone before us, a step ahead of each of us who will, one day, join the pilgrim throng on our march to Heaven. And when that day comes, we too will ask, “Why look for the living among the dead?”

Let us pray with our CPC sisters and brothers . . .

Because You live, Jesus, so too will we. One day, one very special day, that promise will come true. Our grave will open, our bodies and souls rise, our being welcomed into that sanctuary of love, the mansion You have prepared for us. All praise be to You, our Savior, our Redeemer, and our joy. Amen.
