DAILY DEVOTION - MARCH 21
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers they shall not overwhelm you . . . (Isaiah 43:2)
We are in deep waters. We are tossed and we are shaken; the deep is vast and our boat is small. The rivers of our fear rise by the day. They threaten to overwhelm us. Waiting for rescue is almost beyond our ability to endure.
First followers of Jesus were also in deep waters. A storm descended upon them as the Master of the universe lay sleeping in the well of their little boat. He calmed the wind and the waves, and the storm subsided.
Let us pray with our CPC sisters and brothers…
O God, calm the torrent of this disease, we pray. Let us pass through the turbulent waters, and let us remember that You are with us. Through our knowledge of Your Son, Jesus, we know we are not alone. He is in the same boat as we, riding the crest of our fears, beside us through our every longing for rescue. Bring us safely to the shore, and let us not be overwhelmed by waves of worry. Amen.
