Listen to today's daily devotion on this video.

The Lord is my strength and my might, and He has become my salvation.

Exodus 15:2

“Faith in God begins when faith in oneself ends.” So a wise man once said. So our loving God shows us. In the story of the Exodus the people of Israel, again and again, must learn to rely on Him alone. So too do the people of this time, we who are at the mercy of this coronavirus, a threat tiny in size yet of a magnitude that is immeasurable. Our strength, our might, fall short of saving us, despite the intelligence we boast of, and the resources we wrongly praise. When we rely on ourselves, when we place our faith in our own gifts, we are lost. God alone is our strength and our might. He will lead us out of the wilderness. He alone saves.

Let us pray with our CPC sisters and brothers . . .

Good and gracious God, we are at Your mercy. May we finally speak that, believe that, and live by that truth. Kindle our faith in Your saving power, and let us come before You in true humility, knowing that You are God. And we are not. Amen.
